Merry Christmas Eve's Eve
Today I tried fruit cake for the first time. I've never actually tried eating the cake part; when relatives brought the stuff, I'd pick the candied fruit off the top, because I'd heard that the cake was less than delicious.
The cake was pretty-with the jeweled candied fruit pieces on top. I personally did not enjoy the stuff; it tasted somewhat like Fig Newtons (which I enjoy), but the texture (grainy and dry) made the experience less-than-satisfying.
My mission: to make my own fruitcake.
